HOW DOES IT WORK?                                    

The Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) is directed through pre-planned automatic flights, controlled using GPS. While flying, the UAV takes georeferenced photographs that also take into account roll, pitch, and yaw attributes of the UAV. Photographs are overlapped by up to 90% and then proceed using advanced software to stitch together the photos, creating a georeferenced map of different wavelengths, depending on the sensor used.Output filed may be 3-dimensional orthophotos, multispectral crop health surveys, or thermal images.  


WHAT PRECAUTIONS HAVE YOU TAKEN TO MINIMIZE LIABILITY?

​UAVs are not toys- they are precision survey instruments and are a considerable investment. To ensure compliance to all laws, we:


  • Register all UAVs with Transport Canda
  • Ensure all operators carry and comply with our special flight operations certificate 
  • Ensure all operators have Industry Canada Restricted Radio Operator Licenses (ROC-AIR)
  • The company itself carries $5,000,000 in general liability and is in good standing with the Workers Compensation Board
  • We also adhere to a strict safety policy that governs hours of operation, visibility, and ceiling limitations ​​

WHAT TYPE OF FILES DO YOU PROVIDE?        

There are many options in regards to output file types, from simple PDF drawings to georeferenced 4-dimensional files (X,Y,Z wavelength). Additional file types are:


  • Geotiff (.TIF, .TIFF)
  • Autodesk files (.DWG, .DXF, .SHP, .RCS, .RCP, PCG, .PTS, .E57)
  • Keyhole markup language (.KML)
  • Point cloud and text files (.LAS, .XYZ, .CSV)
  • 3D model (.OBJ)
  • Images (.PDF, .JPG)


Martin Remote Sensing Corp. is also capable of providing laminated, high resolution scales orthomaps, which are critical to planning in a variety of industries!
